As your “Dental Delegate” I am happy to inform you all that HB 547 – Maryland Medical Assistance Program – Dental Prophylaxis Care and Oral Health Exams, passed unanimously 130-0 in the House and has moved on to the Senate. This will prohibit any limitations by the Maryland Medical Assistance Program on prophylaxis care and oral health exams during a plan year. Previously, the limitations were once every 120 days for care or health exams but beginning on January 1, 2022 that will be no more.
