With gas prices soaring, quite literally by the day, Marylanders are hurting financially from the burden they are facing. As such Senate Bill 337 (cross filed with House Bill 144) moves to repeal a requirement that certain motor fuel tax rates be adjusted in future years based on growth in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers. This would be a great benefit for all those struggling. In a recent National Survey, Americans overwhelmingly supported a temporary pause on the gas tax. In fact, 75% of Democrats, 62% of Independents, and 65% of Republicans all support this. I am proud to co-sponsor the House version of the Senate bill.
