Today I began collecting rocks — not just as stones, but as markers of memory from the significant places I visited here in Israel.

  • From the Gaza border, I picked up a rock that speaks to resilience in the face of danger.
  • From the grounds of the Nova festival massacre, I carried one heavy with sorrow, honoring lives lost.
  • At the tree planting ceremony representing all 50 States, I chose one that symbolizes growth, unity, and hope for the future.
  • And from a Kibbutz community, I held onto one that reflects the strength, hospitality, and determination of people who rebuild, even after hardship.

Each rock holds a story. Together, they will serve as a reminder of what I’ve witnessed — the pain, the perseverance, and the enduring spirit of this land and its people. Tonight, I lift up prayers for the people of Israel, for peace, comfort, and healing.

As Joshua 4:6–7 reminds us, “When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them…” May these stones forever remind me of the stories, sacrifices, and strength of Israel.
