Notice Regarding Board of Public Works Agenda Items Impacting District 1B

Dear Senator McKay and Delegate Buckel,

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the Board of Public Works will be considering several items that impact District 1B. Specifically:

  • A request to amend a grant agreement between the State and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad for a $250,000 operating grant (FY 2026) (Item 15 of the Secretary’s Agenda).
  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $46,215 from Program Open Space funding allocated to Allegany County to replace the existing brick walkway and drainage system at the Frostburg Depot (Item 1A.1 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda).
  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $17,728 from Program Open Space funding allocated to Allegany County to purchase and install new picnic tables and park benches at the Cresaptown Sports Complex (Item 1A.2 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda).
