It is a pleasure to inform you that the Department of Natural Resources has received a grant request for Community Parks and Playgrounds (CPP) assistance for the following project:

POS 7845-1-487 – CPP – Fairmont Avenue Park – Improvements
Applicant: City of Cumberland, Allegany County
POS Local Amount: $225,000.00
Total Project Cost: $225,000.00

Project Description:
Construct new pickleball courts and a community garden at Fairmont Avenue Park. The project also includes expanded parking, sidewalks, and associated site amenities.

This project is consistent with Community Parks and Playgrounds objectives, and funding was approved and appropriated by the General Assembly. However, Board of Public Works approval is necessary prior to the commitment of funds. This project will be submitted to the Board for approval in the very near future and, if approved, the local government may begin at their earliest opportunity.
