Interested In Serving on an Advisory Board

Are you interested in serving on an advisory board? The Maryland Department of Health is looking for applicants to serve on several boards.

The Potomac Center, Finan Center, and Western Maryland Hospital each have Citizens Advisory Boards. Board members are of both public (advocates, business leaders, medical professionals) and family members of current and former patients. These boards meet four to six times a year to help hospitals on different matters. All Citizens Advisory Boards are appointed by the Governor. If you are interested, you must submit a formal application through the Governor’s Appointment Office.

The Medicaid Advisory Committee (MMAC) is the other board that is seeking new members. The MMAC meetings are held at the Department of Health (Baltimore City) on the fourth Thursday of every month from 1-3 PM.   During the legislative session (January – March), the MMAC meetings are on the fourth Monday of the month in Annapolis from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Meetings are not scheduled during August and December. Members are appointed to this board by the MDH Secretary. You should submit applications through this link.

If you are interested in any of the boards above you can call our office at: (240) 362-7040.
