House Republicans call on the Attorney General to protect Marylanders

Citing the Maryland Defense Act of 2017 (MDA), House Republicans today called on Attorney General Brian Frosh to protect Marylanders from the overreach and inaction of the federal government. In a letter sent to Frosh, House Republicans recalled the way Frosh “zealously and tirelessly sued the Trump administration” but notes his lack of zeal for equally pursuing suits against the Biden Administration.

The MDA was passed in March of 2017, just a few months after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. By December of 2020, the Attorney General’s office had taken more than 40 actions challenging various actions of the Trump Administration.
