It is a pleasure to inform you that the Department of Natural Resources has received a grant request for
Greenspace Equity Program (GEP) funding assistance for the following project:

GEP-11-1 Bloomington Hero\’s Park Revitalization
Applicant: Bloomington Fire Company, Garrett County
GEP Amount: $275,000 Total Project Cost: $335,000
Project Description: Install playground equipment and safety surfacing consistent with National
Playground Safety Standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act at the Bloomington Hero\’s Park.

This project is consistent with Greenspace Equity Program objectives and funding was approved and
appropriated by the General Assembly. However, Board of Public Works approval is necessary prior to the
commitment of funds. This project will be submitted to the Board for approval in the very near future and if
approved, the applicant may begin at their earliest opportunity.
