On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Board of Public Works will be considering two items that impact your District 1B. Specifically:

• A request to enter into a grant agreement for a $100,000 grant to the Board of Directors of the Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization, Inc. for the acquisition, planning, design, construction, repair, renovation, reconstruction, site improvement, and capital equipping of historical information markers for Cumberland historic cemeteries. There is no matching fund requirement for this grant. The General Assembly previously approved this funding as part of the 2023 Capital Budget (Item 1 of the Department of General Services’ Office of State Procurement Agenda); and
• A request to enter into a grant agreement for a $250,000 grant to the Board of Directors of Friends Aware, Inc. for the acquisition, planning, design, construction, repair, renovation, reconstruction, site improvement, and capital equipping of the Friends Aware property. There is no matching fund requirement for this grant. The General Assembly previously approved this funding as part of the 2023 Capital Budget (Item 10 of the Department of General Services’ Office of State Procurement Agenda).
