On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Board of Public Works will be considering several items that impact your Districts 1A, 1B and 1C.

Board of Public Works Agenda – August 27, 2025

Dear Senator McKay, Delegate Hinebaugh, Delegate Buckel, and Delegate Baker:

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, the Board of Public Works will be considering several items that impact your Districts 1A, 1B and 1C. Specifically:

District 1A:

  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $10,710 from the Program Open Space funding allocated to Allegany County to install a concrete pad and bench swing at the Pratt Street Park in the Town of Luke (Item 1A.1 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda);
  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $86,400 from the Program Open Space funding allocated to Garrett County to renovate the restrooms and construct a new dog park at the Grantsville Community Park (Item 7A.1 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda);
  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $149,600 in funding from the Community Parks and Playground Program for new playground equipment and safety surfacing, as well as fencing at the Loch Lynn Heights Community Playground (Item 7A.2 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda);
  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $10,100 in funding from the Community Parks and Playground Program for new LED lighting for security and expanded park usage at Leo Martin Park (Item 7A.3 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda);

District 1B:

  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $225,000 in funding from the Community Parks and Playground Program to construct new pickleball courts and a community garden at Fairmont Avenue Park. The project also includes expanding parking and sidewalks (Item 1A.2 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda); and

District 1C:

  • A request from the Department of Natural Resources to commit $229,448 in funding from the Community Parks and Playground Program for new playground equipment and safety surfacing at Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport (Item 13A.2 of the Department of Natural Resources’ Real Property Agenda).
