2019 End-of-Session Letter

Dear Friends,

The 2019 Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly ended on Monday, April 8th at midnight, Sine Die.

Sine Die is usually a celebratory affair, but this year it was overshadowed by the great loss of Maryland House of Delegates Speaker, Mike Busch, who passed away the day before the 2019 Session ended. While the Speaker and I did not always agree on the issues, I respected him tremendously. He was fair and honorable and was deeply committed to the House of Delegates, his colleagues on both sides of the aisle, his constituents, his family, and the State of Maryland. He will be sorely missed. Both the House and Senate came together just before midnight to pay tribute to our dear friend.

The 2019 Session was the first of a new four-year term. More than 1,400 bills were introduced in the House. Please click here to download and read my annual End of Session letter where I have summarized the major outcomes for District 1C and the State.

I hope you find this update helpful, and I encourage you to share it with your family, friends and colleagues.

It is truly and honor and pleasure to serve as your Delegate. Thank you for putting your faith in me to represent your interests in Annapolis and across the State. I look forward to seeing you around the District as we enjoy a beautiful spring and summer in Western Maryland!
